This weekend was pretty massive with two different types of wedding expo: late Friday night, we drove up to the Sunshine Coast to prepare for Saturday’s A Darling Affair at Woombye, then on Sunday we had Lovelocked (a.k.a. the big fake wedding). What a weekend it was! We slept pretttty well on Sunday night
So. Saturday. We were up bright and early, before the sun was up, and oh-so-stupidly forgot to get our coffees before turning up to the beautiful Chapel Woombye, the home of the Sunshine Coast’s A Darling Affair. And despite this distinct (dangerous) lack of morning caffeine, Chris and I somehow managed to not kill each other as we assembled our stand.
Now, this thing was a monster (photograph above by When Elephant Met Zebra)! We loved how it all turned out in the end, but man oh man it was a pain to assemble! And transport! And pack down! But finally, we had it up and steady, and somehow managed to have all our chosen stationery displayed with about four minutes to spare before loved-up couples with their entourages in tow started flooding through the doors.
This was our first real wedding expo, so we were super excited. We met so many lovely couples (and their family members and friends) on Saturday, and to those who were willing to spare a few minutes to chat with us about their wedding plans and stationery visions, we gave a little thank you gift: hand made candles! These are a new addition to the Cartamodello collection, and we’re really excited about them. We fragrance, hand-pour, and label them ourselves. They’re made from 100% soy wax and natural fragrances, and feature real wood wicks and lids, keeping in line with our eco-friendly ethos.
For A Darling Affair, we had them branded with our logo and contact details, but obviously they’re designed to be perfect wedding favours with many customisation options. We’re yet to organise nice product photos of these pretties, but here’s a sneak peak (yep, in the background–we didn’t think to get proper photos of them on the day!):
Anyway, more about these later This post is all about the fun we had on the weekend! So, here are some more gorgeous snaps of Saturday’s wedding expo by photography superhero When Elephant Met Zebra (the bad quality iPhone photo above is by me, and definitely isn’t the genius work of WEMZ pros!):
We loved our gold pegboard! Isn’t it awesome? Our whole display was a labour of love. And even if we don’t go with this same booth style again, I’m pretty certain I’m going to use the pegboard in my office to bring a touch of glam to the room.
